Welcome to Front & Center, a series highlighting front of the house professionals in Las Vegas restaurants. Right now, Tony Cordovana, the general manager of Slice of Vegas at Mandalay Place, on Berin "Bear" Fuerst, a server and bartender at the restaurant:
Berin or Bear as he prefers to be called by his team, has been a team player at Slice of Vegas since day one. He brings enthusiasm, respect, quality, sense of urgency and great table side service to his daily shifts. Bear was the June recipient of our Employee of the Month as he leads the restaurant in server sales and is consistently developing his own daily challenges. He has helped to redevelop the way we sell daily specials and has even made his way to our signature cocktail menu with his own drink called The Loopy Bear.
Just when you think you understand Bear in his approach and daily mantras, he changes the game. Bear, as the name might suggest — big and bad — is just the opposite. A more accurate description would be a teddy bear and all of his co-workers would agree. Slice is lucky to have him and even more so, our guests leave satisfied."
