The Delano To Take Over THEhotel at Mandalay Bay; New Dining and Nightlife from The Light Group Planned

Please say all these renovations mean the economy is getting better. Now add Mandalay Bay to the list that includes the Palms, Hard Rock Hotel, MGM Grand here and here, the Venetian, Caesars Palace, Stratosphere and more.

Just now, Mandalay Bay announced that Morgans Hotel Group teamed up with MGM Resorts International to create the Delano, an 1,100-room all-suite hotel taking over THEhotel that includes new food and beverage outlets managed by The Light Group.

Look for a casual American bistro by chef Brian Massie, a Japanese restaurant by chef Akira Back and a revamped Red Square. And then there’s a nightclub thrown into the mix. Other titillating tidbits include bars and lounges in the public spaces. All plan to open sometime in 2013.

The Delano already has a hotel in South Beach.
