Westsiders can let out a collective sigh of relief this weekend. The View Cheese Shop, the first stage of View Wine Bar & Kitchen, plans to open Saturday at The Market LV in Tivoli Village.
Inside find varieties of cheese (yes, that case will be brimming with cheeses) along with wines. Look for keg wine, an up-and-coming trend out of Napa Valley, on tap along with glasses of wine and more.
This Saturday, the OC Hit Factory performs a free show near the View Wine Bar & Kitchen starting at 7 p.m., giving guests a chance to hang out at the restaurant on the second floor of The Market LV before it opens.
In the meantime, View Wine Bar & Kitchen is looking at opening in about three weeks. Already many of the booths, tables and chairs line the space inside The Market LV, and guests can see the private dining area on the east side of the open-space restaurant. The wine-bottle glass fixtures are already in place as well as a grand piano, which will have a player tinkling the ivories during opening hours. The cheese shop has its own separate space within the building next to the restaurant.
View is the brainchild of Bill Feather, the former Planet Hollywood Resort president, who got involved in The Market LV when his daughter opened the fashion boutique Best Kept Secret there.
Feather will also be behind Taste — Eatery and Market, which plans to offer fresh produce, a juice bar, a salad shaker bar, paninis and a bread bar. Expect the Dean & DeLuca-type spot to open on the first floor of The Market LV in about two weeks.
Back at View, fans are excited for the culinary treasures from executive chef Johnny Church, fresh from Los Angeles, where he was the executive chef of Michael Mina's XIV and just left his gig as a chef for Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.
Already the duo is talking about opening a second location in Downtown Las Vegas.
