A Scintillating Sneak Peek into Naughty The Act

New, 1 comment

Looks like The Act, Simon Hammerstein's new raunchy nightclub with naughty acts, will be opening before its projected Oct. 31 deadline. Gossip columnist Robin Leach has been tweeting about his hard hat tour of the half-finished space at the Shoppes at the Palazzo.

Some of the new details include a "maze that leads to [the] theatrical section." Guests will be able to party backstage with the cast, which includes performances that Hammerstein confides, "[H]e expects some people will walk out so shocked, offended & stunned — and he's OK with that."

Many of the stars of Absinthe originally debuted their performances at sister clubs The Box in London and New York, Leach says. He also reports that Hammerstein, "Bought contents of abandoned German church & long shuttered NY Post Office as furnishings."

Other revealing details include "Something Deadly" that will lurk in the aquariums guests walk through as they enter the venue.

The decor promises to take up multiple levels decked out in decor that transforms the 12,000-square-foot-plus venue into an Italian opera house, European cathedrals, New York City's Grand Central Station Post Office and a turn-of-the-century speakeasy.

Once inside this exclusive club, guests can sit in private balcony boxes, banquettes on the dance floor or backstage in a seating area that allows guests to mingle with the talent.
