Andre's at the Monte Carlo is the latest restaurant to land in hot water with the Southern Nevada Health District. Andre Rochat's French restaurant landed 40 demerits during a routine inspection on Sept. 12, one point from shut down by the SNHD.
Inspectors found spoiled food, food unprotected from potential contamination and food contact surfaces not properly washed among the violations.
Previous inspections going back to 1998 merited an A grade except in 2004, when the restaurant received 26 demerits. Eight days later, a reinspection had the restaurant back up to an A.
SNHD routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits.
