The Coming Delano Plans a Beach Club, Opening in 2013

Details are still emerging, but the massive rebranding of THEhotel at Mandalay Bay into the Delano will also include a daylife element. Sources close to the project have said that plans for The Delano Beach Club are well underway and that "an epic system by John Lyons sound" is in the works. Lyons created the sound systems at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Las Vegas' clubs.

Expect the South Beach-infused pool space to be ready for next year's season. No word on whether the new venture takes over Moorea Beach Club, the topless pool at Mandalay Bay.

Mandalay Bay announced that Morgans Hotel Group had teamed up with MGM Resorts International to create the Delano, an 1,100-room all-suite hotel taking over THEhotel that includes new food and beverage outlets managed by The Light Group in August.

Look for a casual American bistro by chef Brian Massie, a Japanese restaurant by chef Akira Back and a revamped Red Square, all at Mandalay Bay, as part of the revamp. The restaurants take over the China Grill and Red, White and Blue spaces when their leases expire in November.

Also coming, a new Cirque du Soleil-themed nightclub at Mandalay Bay.

Also, the renovation includes new bars and lounges in the public spaces. All plan to open sometime in 2013.
