Rumors Swirl That Masaharu Morimoto Is Taking Over Japonais

Could Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto finally be headed to Las Vegas? Gossip columnist Robin Leach reports that he has eyes for Japonais, the Japanese restaurant at the Mirage.

If Morimoto lands in Vegas, it would mark his seventh restaurant worldwide.

Already the Mirage has announced that Tom Colicchio will open an unnamed restaurant in the Kokomo's space after that closes at the beginning of 2013. The Top Chef judge's newest meat-centric restaurant plans to open in summer 2013 with 250 seats that will focus on "meats prepared entirely over an open flame — from wood-burning ovens to charcoal grills," according to a press release.
