Get Your Growler on at Public House; Rock-tober Fest

VENETIAN — Public House now has 64-ounce growlers for $8 empty or $22 to $52 full, depending on the type of beer. The pub also has a flight of pumpkin and Oktoberfest beers for $17 for the month of October. The flight includes Tenaya Creek Oktoberfest, Firestone Oaktober, Warsteiner Oktoberfest and Big Dogs Pumpkin Barleywine. [EaterWire]

FASHION SHOW — Stripburger celebrates Oktoberfest in its own way when it brings Rock-tober Fest on Monday, Oct. 8, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Guests can sample 20 varieties of German beers for just $20, and rank their favorites. The restaurant also ushers in a German-themed menu that includes grilled sausage, grilled Rheingau-style chicken marinated in beer, braised and grilled beef brisket, burgers, German-style potato salad, soft jumbo pretzels, hofbrau slaw, spaetzle salad and German dark chocolate brownies with cherry sauce. PALMS — Nove Italiano is holding a cooking class with executive chef Geno Bernardo on Oct. 13. Guests will cook a five-course meal paired with wines and specialty cocktails for $85. The three-hour class includes tips on making the dishes as well as a tasting of each dish. The cooking class starts with heirloom pumpkin soup, followed by kale and local apple salad, wild Block Island striped bass with caramelized Brussels sprouts, pan-seared duck and pumpkin creme brulee.
