Things are getting dicey in Free Bird land. Now the bankrupt and closed Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ & Beer and next door neighbor American Burger Works have filed a lawsuit against the Excalibur, which evicted the duo on Wednesday for nonpayment of rent.

The restaurants, which share a kitchen and are both owned by Drive This! Entertainment, owe $425,000 in rent. Vegas Inc reports the two restaurants "have struggled to keep up with rent obligations as well as to pay restaurant build-out expenses."

Following the lockout on Wednesday, the jointly operated restaurants filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code, signally that they planned to stay open. This new lawsuit aims to reverse the eviction so both restaurants can continue operations.

"The lawsuit says the Excalibur failed to give the restaurants a chance to catch up on past-due rent prior to the shutdown and that the eviction has damaged the restaurants' brands, placed perishable food in danger of spoiling and the jobs of nearly 90 people in jeopardy," Vegas Inc reports.
