PALAZZO — The fourth annual Shuck & Swallow returns to First Food & Bar on Wednesday, Oct. 3, with chefs vying for the title. The event has a "Sailors & Staches" theme and costumes are encouraged. Santa Monica Seafood will be donating all the oysters and food specials will be running with proceeds being donated to Three Square Food Bank. Whichever chef shucks and swallows the most oysters in 10 minutes wine the Shuck & Swallow trophy along with bragging rights. The event starts at 3 p.m. with a post-party at 3:30 p.m. [EaterWire]
STATIONS CASINOS — The third annual Project Pink initiative takes place across all the resorts in the Stations Casinos family Oct. 1-31 to raise funds for the Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. All seven Grand Café locations at Boulder Station, Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station, Red Rock Resort, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station and Texas Station will feature pink pastries starting at $1.25. Treats include pink ribbon French macaroons, pink ribbon cookies, caramel apples, pink ribbon cheesecake lollipops, strawberry cheesecake, peanut brittle, brownies and cookies. Fifty percent of all proceeds from the sales will be donated to the local charity. Cabo locations at Aliante Station, Boulder Station, Palace Station, Santa Fe Station and Sunset Station; Garduno's at Fiesta Rancho; and Amigo's at Fiesta Henderson will feature pink fajitas and sopapillas. Additionally all Mexican restaurants will serve complimentary tortilla chips and salsa with pink chips mixed in the bowl. TOWN SQUARE — Ranch House Kitchen will celebrate Oktoberfest now through Sunday, Oct. 7, with $3 domestic draft beers, $3 well cocktails, half-price bottles of wine and half-off appetizers and pizzas Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. The restaurant also features half-price appetizers and pizzas during Ranch House Kitchen's late-night menu from 10 p.m. until close.
