Think of the new Bacchanal Buffet opening in T-minus six days as nine restaurants housed under one roof. The $17 million buffet from Caesars Palace plans to serve up international dishes at live action stations in the 25,000-square-foot restaurant.
Mexican, Italian, Chinese and Japanese are represented along with various American dishes, seafood, pizza, deli and desserts. Each plans to serve plated dishes along with minis. Eighty percent of the cooking will be done in front of the guests.
In all, 500 food items will be on hand, with more than 300 at dinner, 95 at breakfast and 115 different desserts. Each day, 20 types of bread, 10 daily soups and seven farmstead American cheeses and another three changing seasonally find their way on the menu.
Some of the more interesting dishes include crepes made to order, house-smoked barbecue ribs and brisket and shucked oysters. Ramen, pho and sushi rolls will be made to order while red velvet pancakes made from scratch and stromboli and garlic knots make the menu.
Interactivity with guests will be key here, says Gary Selesner, regional president of Caesars Palace.
Each station will carry about 30 dishes. Foodies will get their fill of tastes with dishes such as chicken liver mousse with a gelee on top.
