The Southern Nevada Health District is back at it, doling out C grades and shutting down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits during an inspection. Here's a look at five restaurants that didn't pass muster with SNHD inspectors.
Yayo Taco at 4632 S. Maryland Pkwy. was shut down by SNHD when inspectors found 50 demerits at the restaurant. Inspectors found spoiled food, food stored at the wrong temperature and more during the routine inspection on Aug. 31.
Baja Fresh at 9310 S. Eastern Ave. was shut down with 14 demerits during a reinspection on Aug. 31. A previous inspection on Aug. 14 found 39 demerits and a C grade.
The Palm Restaurant at the Forum Shops at Caesars received 40 demerits during a routine inspection on Aug. 30. Inspectors found spoiled food, food stored at the wrong temperature and more during the inspection.
Ray's Asian Cuisine at 3025 E. Desert Inn Road also earned 40 demerits during a routine inspection on Aug. 30. The restaurant had no hot and cold running water from an approved source, spoiled food and used food from an unapproved source.
Thai Pepper Too at 2226 Paradise Road was shut down by the SNHD when inspectors found 45 demerits. The routine inspection found the restaurant was not operating within the parameters of a health permit, food stored at the wrong temperatures and food handlers not washing their hands properly.
