Las Vegas is home to many new restaurants. Some of the smaller ones that open with less than a shebang go unnoticed. Here's a look at two of the new smaller restaurants that opened recently all over the Las Vegas valley. This time, each represents an expansion, one of a Chicago hot dog eatery adding pizzas and the other an LA Chinese restaurant that could change Chinatown.
Shaanxi Gourmet
Where: 3400 S. Jones Blvd.
What: Look for Chinese dishes from the Shaanxi province from the same owners as the celebrated Rosemead, Calif., location. The entire menu is in Chinese, but order the cold noodles replete with chile, Sichuan pepper and vinegar sauce. Lamb finds a home on this menu, and diners' best bet is the Xinxiang lamburgers served on a split flatbread stuffed with lamb.
