Mandalay Bay's newest restaurant, a causal American bistro, plans to make its debut on Jan. 29. Citizens Kitchen & Bar, which is taking over the former Red, White & Blue space, plans to offer The Light Group's first 24-hour restaurant at the hands of executive chef Brian Massie.
Munge Leung, the design firm behind 1 OAK Nightclub at the Mirage and Lily Bar & Lounge at the Bellagio, is creating the new look for the 6,787-square-foot space with room inside for 175, including 12 at the bar. Plans call for antique mirrors, pewter, muted metals and new banquettes with distinctive buttons and stitching. The oyster bar is being removed although a take-out counter remains. The eight-stool seating area by the front door will include a grab-and-go counter.
The new menu includes Maryland Blue crab cakes, Southern fried chicken and bacon-wrapped meatloaf. A loaded beer menu will also be featured behind the bar.
