A former '50s diner will be replaced by a ninth island concept. L&L Hawaiian BBQ will take over Shari's Diner, a rock and roll themed restaurant that operated out of an iconic rail car style structure. The vintage theme had extended to memorabilia on the walls and occasional classic car shows in the parking lot.

The L&L Hawaiian BBQ franchise will be up-ending the menu with a fusion focus of Asian and Hawaiian styles including island favorites such as pork chuck wrapped with taro leaf, Loco Moco and their version of Chicken Katsu. Two servings of rice, macaroni salad and a hot entrée are staples of their "plate dish" specialties.

Shari's Diner had operated at this location since 2007, replacing a Cuban restaurant. The nostalgic diner shuttered in late 2012.

L&L Hawaiian BBQ maintains eight locations in Las Vegas and their parent company includes over 175 restaurant properties within their portfolio.
