That new Mexican restaurant from Sonrisa Grill owners Chanthy and Tim Walsh opened in Village Square. Chinita Mexican Bar & Grill, the offshoot of the Lake Las Vegas restaurant, serves up Mexican fare including enchiladas and tacos.

Specials include a full rack of chipotle barbecue ribs, skirt steak with tampiquena cream sauce, wood plank salmon and shrimp diablo.

The 5,288-square-foot restaurant and full cantina has a warm dining space, as well as an outdoor patio dining with a fire pit and red umbrellas. Chinita is Spanish for ladybug.

Next Wednesday, the restaurant holds its official grand opening from 4 to 10 p.m. with a ribbon cutting, complimentary appetizers from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., flamenco dancers and musical entertainment.
