Foursquare, the mobile app that lets you check in at locations to receive awards or badges has crunched the check-in numbers to tally their user's most popular locations. The 2013 national awards has revealed some surprising winners for Las Vegas.
In the food category, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville won best American food, followed by the Strip's Hard Rock Cafe. In this broad category, Michael Mina at Bellagio came in ninth.
Gallagher's Steakhouse won for best steak, narrowly beating STK. For Asian food, travelers chose Social House at Crystals, while the Fukuburger truck came in ninth. Burger fans were tied and voted Holsteins Shakes and Buns and Burger Bar as joint winners. Pink Taco landed one percentage point above Border Grill in the Mexican category and seafood created another dead-heat with RM Seafood and Joe's Stone Crab sharing the honors.
Foursquare fans couldn't decide between Surrender Nightclub, XS Nightclub and Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub for best club in a three-way tie. But Crown & Anchor Pub beat the out the Center Bar at New York-New York. Vesper Bar was judged to create the best cocktail, Nine Fine Irishmen serve the best beer and also won for best pub and Blondie's Sports Bar & Grill at Planet Hollywood Resort provided the best sports bar experience.
The entertainment voting section rant the gamut from the Pinball Hall of Fame winner, to the 10th best "entertainment" location being the "Shooting Scene" of Tupac Shakur on Flamingo Road.
In the things to do section, under the "great outdoors" category, the Eiffel Tower Experience won followed by the indoor located, Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at Bellagio.
