Look Inside the Construction at the Mammoth Hakkasan

Here's a first look of the construction that has been going on at Hakkasan, the now 80,000-square-foot restaurant, lounge and nightclub going into the MGM Grand.

The first floor will contain the restaurant with a private dining area taking up the second floor. On the third floor, the lounge, with the fourth and fifth floors making up what will become the largest nightclub in the world, at least according to Hakkasan.

Three hundred construction workers will spend 400 days rebuilding the space from the former Studio 54. In all, 1,200 tons of steel and 3,500 cubic yards of concrete are going into the construction.

Scott Sibella, president and COO of the MGM Grand, calls Hakkasan "a gamechanger."

One of the first announced events that will take place in the space comes May 9, when Vegas Uncork'd throws its kickoff party at Hakkasan. Guests will have a chance to explore the mammoth restaurant and nightclub will dining on bites and sipping libations.
