The prominent construction skeleton in front of the Monte Carlo resort will soon start to take shape. Tenant D, now known to be 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria, is the next focus of attention.
The Los Angles based, fast, hot and wildly popular pizza chain has publicly shared a $1,566,933 construction cost for this build-out. The single-story, 3,278-square-foot space will include room for 107, in a curved structure built with stone veneers and huge glass walls that can opened up for unrestricted views of the strip.
With the arched template up and running, new water features in front of the restaurant are also next on the agenda and will tidy up the look of this huge construction footprint. The restaurant will be joined by Boca Park's Sambalatte Torrefazione upscale coffee shop and adjacent newcomer, Double Barrel Roadhouse.
800 Degrees is minority owned by the creators of Umamai Burger, set to arrive at the forthcoming SLS Las Vegas resort in 2014. Umami Burger founder Adam Fleischman along with former Michael Mina chef Anthony Carron were among those who created this super hot, super quick, choose you own ingredients concept. An infusion of $7 million in financing earlier this year has pushed the company to aim for 10 new California locations by the end 2014.
In Los Angeles, the company recently opened a "to-go" outpost serving from 8 a.m. Pizza aficionados will note the company describes their creations as "characteristically soft and chewy, and with a little bit of char from the intense heat." The very flexible opening date is penciled for early 2014.
