Conflicting reports on the last night of The Act Nightclub at the Grand Canal Shoppes have it either ransacked or just trashed like a crazy last party.
Robin Leach tweeted four photos of the club as it looked following the abrupt closure after Saturday night, including a view from the security cameras.
"The party that truly finished off The Act. Drunk dry and trashed," Leach tweeted. "Staff now barred from going back into club to retrieve their belongings.
"Am reliably told owner was in LA and key execs at NYC club. Act basically opened operated last night by general staff without normal execs," Leach tweeted.
But Norm Clark talked to Mark Shunock of Rock of Ages, who was supposed to open a Monday night show at the club. Shunock says he went into the club Monday night. "A cleanup crew had begun working, he said, but insisted "it definitely wasn't ransacked. Trashed is too heavy a word. There was debris but it looked like it hadn't been cleaned from a night of one last crazy party."
The naughty nightclub was embroiled in a lawsuit with the Sands Corp., parent company of the Venetian and Palazzo, over the content of the scintillating acts that happened inside.
