Shi Fang Market, the Pan-Asian food court to open on the Palazzo's casino floor, has set a bold construction timetable culminating in an April opening date. Exclusively revealed by Eater Vegas, the 7,000-square-foot casual concept will dismantle the long dormant Michelin-starred Restaurant Charlie created by chef Charlie Trotter.
The very open plan design dominated by light wood and rich hues of red and gold will beckon with three moon gate arches, unobstructed views of the casino and a complete remodel of the former Restaurant Charlie bar.
At first glance, the elegant reds, dozens of lanterns and skillfully lit wooden accents might lead guests to believe it isn't a food court, but the self-service soda, napkin and ice dispensers will make it quickly obvious. Each of the five food stations front an open kitchen and will maintain their own cash registers, unlike a standard buffet with a central location to pay.
The current plans name the five fast Asian food options as "Dim Sum," "Roasting," "Noodle Bar," "Korean BBQ" and "Lucky Wok."
Construction on the market is scheduled to begin the third week of November. The name is inspired by Shifang, a city in Sichuan, China.
