It may share the same culinary air with neighbors like Joël Robuchon, Michael Mina, Tom Colicchio and Wolfgang Puck, but the MGM Grand food court is well off most foodie's radar. A new revamp by Frank Bonanno, king of the Las Vegas food courts, has been given a pricey high roller budget to help continue to attract a different strata of diner.
As Eater Vegas had painstakingly detailed, Asian take-out spot Fast Wok has been remodeled, and now re-opened, as Pan Asian Express. Adjacent and currently covered in dark cloth, is a declared $750,000 worth of construction. To come, a new self-explanatory concept called Tacos & 'Rita's, an upgraded Häagen-Dazs and the third Las Vegas outpost of Original Chicken Tender. The quickie clucker joint already is ensconced at Luxor and Monte Carlo.
Boanno's Fifth Avenue Restaurant Group oversee these franchise and original concepts. As previously reported, he is overseeing an ongoing $453,720 refurbishing of the Mandalay Bay Food Court.
