Guests approaching from the Strip might mistakenly think the Mirage's Carnegie Deli was shuttered for good. Closed and cloaked behind black curtains, the signage says "New Dreams" are on the way. But, on the opposite side of the construction, visitors will find helpful signs explaining the second outpost of the New York City institution is experiencing an "upgrade." The restaurant has been operating at the Mirage since 2005.
The deli will return to serving up its classic, monster-sized sandwiches on Oct. 16. During the hiatus, a "limited selection" from the Carnegie Deli menu, including breakfast, will be available inside Samba Brazilian Steakhouse, from midnight to 2 p.m.
