It's not always the little guys. A McDonald's at 4400 E Charleston Blvd was shuttered by the Southern Nevada Health District on Oct. 7. Inspectors found an imminent health hazard prompting an immediate closure. The routine inspection discovered sewage and liquid waste was not disposed of in an approved manner.
Demerits were also awarded for ineffective pest control measures and food storage issues.
In Las Vegas McDonald's has a near perfect inspection record over the past two years, with an A grade their standard award.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
