Golden Corral Countdown Clock Hits Pause

They might be hiring, the main sign has been built and they are working on lighting the parking lot, but the Las Vegas-style buffet of Golden Corral isn't quite ready for Las Vegas. The company's Facebook page won't commit to an actual date, but an official administrator on their careers page reports, "The Las Vegas restaurant is now scheduled to open in December." Previous updates include "early fall" and "mid-November."

The 11,088-square-foot restaurant is located on the same strip of land as a Home Depot and across the street from a Walmart Neighborhood Market.

Early paperwork for this project was filed as far back as July 2012. It will be the only Golden Corral in the state of Nevada and more than 100 miles from their closest rival. TV commercials for the company remain a perennial staple on local cable channels.
