Meatball Spot Coming Soon, But Who's The Boss?

Progress on the Meatball Spot's arrival inside the Miracle Mile Shops has been marked by official confirmation of a December debut for the casual Italian themed eatery. But new paperwork and logos point to a possible new management team connected to the expansion inclined concept that formerly featured Carla Pellegrino as their star chef.

Located directly next to the PH Live theater where Britney Spears will begin a two-year residency beginning Dec. 27., still unconfirmed rumors have the pop diva as a silent partner in the restaurant figureheaded by Sugar Factory's Charissa Davidovici.

Despite three active limited liability companies under the Meatball Spot name, on Oct. 31, a new entity called Meatball Spot MM LLC was created. Bobby Sabas and Leon Wu of HIG Management are listed as agents and managers. The pair are part of the team behind DJ's Taco Bar, China Max and Dino's Little Italy at the Hawaiian Marketplace, coming soon to Neonopolis and the forthcoming F.A.M.E. Night Market and Ultra Lounge at The Linq.

Neither Davidovici or Le Thai co-owner Puoy Premsrirut who are both the managers of two other recently created Meatball Spot LLCs's are referenced in this new entity. Nor, is Britney Spears or her representatives.

One notable change related to these name switcheroos is present on the plywood within the mall. The current plywood features a graphic that says "Est. 1964." A similar logo was used in the former incarnation at Town Square, but the logo over there announced "Est. 1977." The gimmick celebrated the birth year of Charissa Davidocci. For the record, Britney Spears was born in 1981.
