Viva Mercado's Rises from the Dead at Village Square

Viva Mercado's, the Mexican restaurant that closed last January, just opened in its new home in Village Square. The restaurant takes over the former Chinita Mexican Bar & Grill space. Chinita, which meant ladybug in Spanish, opened in January by the owners of Sonrisa Grill at Lake Las Vegas.

Chef Jose Rodriguez has manned the kitchen for the restaurant for the past 24 years and picked up where he left off with homemade Mexican fare.

The restaurant is open Sundays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
