DOWNTOWN
— Starting today the World Food Championships hosted by Ben Vaughn of the Food Network's Health Inspectors takes place at the Fremont Street Experience and Fremont East. More than 300 competitors from average home cooks to professionally trained chefs will compete in seven different categories and then the champions of those categories will meet on Sunday for the Best in Show final table. LAKE LAS VEGAS
— The fall edition of Brew's Best Village Beer Fest comes to MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas from 1 to 6 p.m. VIPs by $40 per person, while general admission is $30 at the door. Big Dog's Brewing Co., Nevada Beverage Co., Boulder Dam Brewing Co., Joseph James Brewing Co. and more are expected. [EaterWire]

TIVOLI VILLAGE — The Autumn Harvest Festival takes over the shopping center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a chili cook off by Tivoli Village chefs, a pie eating or jerky eating contest open to the public, chef Sam Marvin of Echo & Rig Butcher and Steakhouse demonstrating how to carve a Thanksgiving turkey and more. COSMOPOLITAN OF LAS VEGASDesert Hops: An International Beer Experience features more than 150 beers from across the world from 3 to 7 p.m. On hand, beers from Canada (La Fin Du Monde), Scotland (Crabbie's Spiced Orange), Denmark (Carlsberg), Japan (ASAHI), Australia (Coopers Original Pale Ale) and many more. Jaleo and Comme Ça will serve up dishes while the resort's executive chef Jeff Walter dishes out a German-inspired menu. GOLD SPIKE
Project Dinner Table hosts its final community event of the season with "linner" (a combination of lunch plus dinner) at 2 p.m. Executive chefs from Station Casinos serve up the family-style meal. The menu features traditional dishes such as Porchetta alla Romana, polenta, and lamb sugo with orchiette pasta. Massimo Pisati and Luigi Iannuario of Terra Verde at Green Valley Ranch do the honors.
