Vinyl billboards surrounding the ongoing construction at the Monte Carlo confirm to pedestrians the news Eater Vegas first revealed back in November. Award-winning Chicago chef Matthias Merges will be bringing his yakitori-inspired Yusho restaurant to the Strip in 2014.
His location, next door to 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria and the Double Barrel Roadhouse is currently not much more than a skeleton exterior, but the resort has finished paving some of this new plaza and created a new centrally located entrance to the casino.
On the opposite side of the Yusho project, demolition work has begun on the eventual home of a Sambalatte coffee shop. This upheaval has temporarily impacted access to Diablo's Cantina, restricting guests to a single entrance on the south side of the two-story restaurant.
Early plans for Yusho include two dining rooms and an outdoor patio area facing this newly widened pedestrian-friendly frontage.
