Airline passengers, rejoice. Frequent fliers departing from D Terminal will have a delicious new food option come next February. Metro Pizza, the neighborhood pizza joint with six locations in Vegas, plans to open its first restaurant at McCarran International Airport (LAS) in February.

The new 900-square-foot restaurant with a publicly declared $450,000 construction budget will be located between Gates D32 and D36, says Sam Facchini, who co-owns the restaurants with John Arena.

"In an effort to suit the needs of the guests, we will be serving hungry travelers with very little free time on their hands, there will be a limited menu that includes slices of some of our most popular pizzas, plus our signature meatball sliders, salads, soft drink beverages and even a couple of breakfast items for the early-morning traveler," Facchini tells Eater Vegas. "Everything will be portioned out and served in a way that will allow for easy boarding. So in many cases, we will be airborne."

Expect to find many of the design elements found in their free-standing restaurants.
