Tom Colicchio's Heritage Steak has a logo and matching new plywood. The Top Chef judge's third Vegas venture is still promising a summer opening and will be "bringing the sights and scents of grilling with fire."
The steakhouse is replacing the Mirage's former Kokomo's seafood and steak restaurant, which shuttered in January. The popular, open-plan Kokomo's bar is not part of the current construction and has been renamed the Lobby Bar.
Colicchio's concept is based around meats cooked on an open flame using wood-burning ovens or charcoal grills. The impressive 100-foot-high atrium setting will surrounded a potential 250 guests and designers Bentel+Bentel are working with natural materials to complement the space.
While the re-modelling continues, the enormous plywood encourages guests to enjoy the other Mirage restaurants including Japonais, the often rumored rumored location of Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto's first Las Vegas restaurant.
