The largest Nobu restaurant in the world opens tonight when chef Nobu Matsuhisa's eponymous Japanese joint swings open the doors at 5 p.m. Clocking in at 12,775 square feet, the new Nobu Restaurant & Lounge inside the Nobu Tower at Caesars Palace features more than 325 seats as well as a sushi bar, exclusive private dining area and three teppanaki tables, a first for the chef.

Patterned private dining pods and undulating leather-upholstered screens wrap around the dining room while cloud-like light fixtures hang overhead. As guests enter, a 15-person bar with an oversized bowl hand-carved out of a single block of wood greets them. David Rockwell of the Rockwell Group used the Japanese notion of wabi sabi, the simplicity and beauty in natural states, to create the look of the room.

Bowed columns of bamboo line the exterior to create the look of the traditional Japanese ikebana basket used for flower-arranging. Stone, wood and paper are just some of the elements found inside the room.

Nobu Restaurant & Lounge plans to be open Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight. The lounge will stay open until 1 a.m. on weekdays and 2 a.m. on weekends.
