Despite Las Vegas already hosting the Downtown Mob Museum and the Strip's Mob Attraction, a third mob museum is in gestation with the option to include an equally long in the planning, mobster-themed Gangster Bar. The criminally inclined depository will be located across the street from the Four Seasons in a strip mall called Akita Plaza.

Before the Paradise Town planning and zoning committee, Chetak Development Inc. was approved to extend their option to build the museum and the bar that was first proposed in November 2010. Partners in this venture are a company with the appropriate name of Gangster Expo Inc.

The original, approved museum concept was created to display classic cars and be located next to the Gangster Bar. The floor plan includes a gift shop, a presentation room and five exhibit spaces. The mob theme has now expanded to the exhibition space.

Akita Plaza has also been attempting to redevelop the entire 49,000-square-foot footprint since March 2011. Dramatic plans for the re-vamp including adding a tightrope walking attraction, the re-installation of Speed – The Ride roller coaster formerly located at the Sahara, new retail, restaurants and a nightclub, plus the expansion of on-site radio station Hot 97.5 KVEG. Current Plaza tenants Panda Express, McDonald's and Subway would also upgrade their spaces.

No opening timetable for the museum or bar was presented before the approval board.
