Albo Pizza at 1510 Las Vegas Blvd. S. was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District on March 11 after a routine inspection found 49 demerits. Inspectors found spoiled food, ineffective pest controls and waste water or sewage not disposed properly.
This isn't the first time the SNHD has shut down the restaurant. Back in October, inspectors closed it after a re-inspection found 22 demerits. The restaurant's spotty inspection record includes three C grades with as many as 40 demerits since 2010 that were upgraded to a A after a re-inspection.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
