Zenshin Rolls into South Point with Sushi Galore

Behold the new sushi restaurant inside South Point. Zenshin opened yesterday.

Terence Fong, who also has Island Sushi & Grill in Henderson, created this concept with its miso marinated black cod with baby bok choy and ginger soy vinaigrette, oxtail soup, miso ramen with pork belly and fire grilled 16-ounce bone-in ribeye with a roasted garlic compound butter and medley of Japanese mushrooms.

The centerpiece of the joint is a sushi bar. Look for rolls such as the 777, a spicy soft shell crab roll topped with spicy tuna, spicy aioli and eel sauce; the Double Down Salmon, a salmon skin cucumber roll topped with salmon, tobiko, avocado and yuzu aioli; the Jack Pot, a shrimp tempura cream cheese roll, topped with tuna, avocado and garlic ponzu; and the best name of all, the 8-Second Bull Ride, a snow crab, avocado, tempura asparagus roll topped with seared Wagyu, sesame miso and a truffle essence.

Guests can also order bento boxes and sushi combinations.

On the bar side of the menu, look for specialty drinks, Japanese and domestic beer, wine and sake.

Zenshin is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11 to 1 a.m.
