Conrad Gallagher's PoshBurger Bistro Brings $29 Kobe Beef Burgers to Vegas

Read the UrbanDaddy puff piece on PoshBurger Bistro, opening today, and learn that the joint is run by a Michelin-starred chef, but not once is the name of the chef mentioned.

Why? Because that chef would be Conrad Gallagher, a man whose reputation in recent years has been dominated by a string of failed ventures in Ireland, New York and South Africa, directly affecting his restaurant workers, as well as optimistic investors. That same UrbanDaddy article mentions the types of burgers but fails to point out that the Kobe burger with truffle aioli, seared foie gras, frizzled onion, watercress, cherry tomatoes and a fried quail egg goes for $29. Or that Black Angus burger with confit tomato, arugula, hummus, Rachlette cheese and red onion marmalade goes for $19. That's off-Strip, folks.

Sure, it's interesting that the restaurant has an organic lamb burger ($19), a tuna tartar burger ($19), a wild boar burger ($18) and a venison burger ($19), along with daily specials in elk, salmon, duck, oxtail and ostrich (or ostridge as it's spelled on the menu). But these pricey burgers are 6 ounces.

Then there are the sides, such as fat fries with a garlic aioli and sea salt for $3, skinny fries with a truffle aioli and parmesan for $4 or crispy onion rings for $4.

And not to be neglected, the picnic-style tables for communal dining of these pricey burgers, along with a selection of craft beers and "boutique" wines. Check out the entire menu here.

Note: Gallagher did earn a Michelin star for Peacock Alley in Dublin, Ireland, and he also earned Irish Chef of the Year from 1998 to 2001.
