Tabú, the nightclub at MGM Grand, has tersely announced it will close on Saturday, April 6. The ultra-lounge has succumbed to the massive resort-wide design overhaul, led by the multimillion dollar introduction of Hakkasan restaurant and nightclub.
The announcement does not give a re-opening date but a rumored facelift to make the space more open to the casino floor is backed by a recent construction permit request to create the Tabú Gaming Lounge, a 7,782-square foot project, publicly valued at $1,950,000.
Tabú opened in 2003, with a late, 10 p.m. opening time and a less than 400 reveler capacity. The new upgrade will increase the number of potential guests.
