Deejay Steve Aoki is going to throw a fit when he finds out the restaurant his father founded was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after inspectors found an imminent health hazard on March 22.

SNHD inspectors shut down Benihana at LVH after discovering there was no potable or hot water at the restaurant. The routine inspection found eight demerits in total. The shut down effected only the noodle bar; the restaurant has eight health permits for various areas of the space.

Since 2006, the noodle bar at the restaurant has earned an A grade following inspections, with the exception of one time in 2007, when the area of the restaurant earned a B grade that was upgraded to an A the following day.

The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
