PublicUs To Help Revive Downtown's East Village

New, 1 comment

PublicUS is hoping to bring some Fremont East bar scene energy to the East Village.

Nicholas Akiona is proposing to build a 3,310 square-foot restaurant within the Fremont Center retail block located at the corner of Fremont Street and Maryland Parkway. This underdeveloped area is six blocks east from the neighborhood of Commonwealth and Le Thai and three blocks from Atomic Liquors.

The corner setting will enable patio seating facing both streets. The exterior look is brick, glass and plenty of gray coloring. Inside, two long communal tables and nine smaller tables will facilitate room for 59 seats. The entire space can hold 99 guests.

PublicUs signage will also include the prominent phrase "East Village," suggesting this pioneer hopes to revitalize a maligned and forgotten district.
