French chef Daniel Boulud is already on tap to host the Epicurean Affair, the 75-restaurant bacchanalia at Azure at the Palazzo on May 23, but now comes word that that chef may announce his return to Las Vegas at the event as well.
Back in March, rumors flew that Boulud would return to Vegas, taking over Valentino, rumored to close in June at the Venetian. Then came a Craigslist posting from The Dinex Group, Boulud's company, inviting chefs, sous chefs, pastry chefs, sommeliers and managers to apply for prospective jobs within the Boulud empire. Then in an interview with Zagat, he wouldn't confirm a new restaurant here, but did say, "Yes. I think Vegas has been a consistent market for a casual restaurant like DBGB so we are looking into it. It is not a done deal yet but I think it will work well. I always had a good time and a good sense of people working in Vegas."
Boulud does have a relationship with parent company Sands Corp., the parent company of the Venetian and Palazzo, with his DB Bistro Moderne at the Marina Bay Sands Resort in Singapore.
Boulud shuttered his namesake restaurant Daniel Boulud Brasserie at Wynn Las Vegas in 2010.
