Wondering what will be on the menu of the Michael Mina's coming Pub 1842 at the MGM Grand? The new gastropub, which takes over Mina's former Seablue space, plans to open in mid-June.
Seems Mina is borrowing his menu from The Handle Bar, his American pub and beer hall in Jackson Hole, Wyo.
The menu is described as comfort food with starters such as crispy fried mozzarella with a roast pork Sunday gravy, crispy chicken wings with sweet and spicy chipotle glaze and blue cheese and soft pretzels served with house-made American cheese fondue.
The burger menu here includes a peanut butter crunch with bacon jam, potato chips and pimento cheese and the Korean barbecue salmon burger with cucumber kimchi and Fresno peppers. Steaks, salads, sandwiches and more entrees will round out the menu.
Expect Mina to debut the menu during Vegas Uncork'd at a poolside tasting.
Mina named the restaurant for the year Pilsner beer was invented, so expect a hearty selection of brews on the menu. More than 40 ales, pilsners, stouts and lagers will be served up from taps, bottles and cans. Pub 1842 also plans to serve beer flights for samplings as well as classic cocktails, a tip of the hat to the former Nobhill Tavern that closed on March 30.
Insiders at Nobhill say the closing date was moved up two weeks so Michael Morton's wine bar taking its place could open in December.
