New Yorker Miki Agarwal's organic-friendly pizza joint has undergone a name and branding switcheroo. Previously called Slice, her under-construction restaurant is being created on the ground floor of the Ogden. It will become the second outpost for her Manhattan-launched, farm-to-table pizza concept, Wild.
Wild's New York menu features an exclusively gluten-free and vegan pizza crust with only two possible meat toppings, sweet capicola or bacon. Instead, pizza choices like pear Gorgonzola and truffled ricotta join vegetable-only appetizers including warm asparagus and Brussels sprouts .
Agarwal's venture is being produced in partnership with the Downtown Project, overseen by Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, a resident of the Ogden condominium building,
During a Las Vegas City Council Planning Commission it was previewed that Miki Agarwal herself would provide live ukulele musical accompaniment at Slice, as many as two nights a week. No word on whether this entertainment will extend to the restaurant's new direction. Wild's opening date has been pushed back to July.
