LAS VEGAS — Magician Penn Jillette, one of the finalists in NBC's All-Star Celebrity Apprentice, now has his own flavor of Walgreens Good & Delish ice cream. Vanilla & Chocolate Magic Swirtle is now on sale nationwide at Walgreens and Duane Reade locations. If Jillette sells more ice cream than his competitor Trace Adkins, he'll win $100,000 for his charity, Opportunity Village. The ice cream sales will also help determine who is ultimately named the All-Star Celebrity Apprentice, which would award an additional $250,000 to Opportunity Village. [EaterWire]
TIVOLI VILLAGE — The west side shopping center has Dine for Charity, a charitable effort in conjunction with Tivoli Days May 20-25. The total proceeds of the sale of featured menu items for the week will benefit Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. Look for chocolate layer cake at Brio, apricot habañero tamales at Cantina Laredo, spicy tuna on crispy rice at Kabuki, any dessert with the purchase of an entree at Leone Cafe, homemade hummus with chopped cucumbers and tomatoes served with warm pita bread at Pizza Lounge, strawberry sake shortcake at Poppy Den and Tivoli wrapped dates at View Wine Bar & Kitchen.
