Michael Mina must have been the biggest star at Vegas Uncork'd over the weekend. Aside from sabering off the ceremonial bottle of Prosecco in front of the MGM Grand, he showcased his fare with a three-course Japanese Wagyu tasting at StripSteak at Mandalay Bay and hosted the Bellagio Block Party. But the big reveals came when he hosted an event poolside at the MGM Grand that showcased his new menu at the coming Pub 1842.

Look for classics such as lobster corn dogs, spring rolls, deviled eggs and mini crab cakes to make the menu. The menu also features sliders such as salmon on potato pepper buns, turkey versions with dried apricots and a chipotle aioli and a classic prime beef with cheddar, a secret sauce and shredded lettuce. The real star of the show was a peanut burger with peanut butter and potato chips. Also of note, fried pickles. Chef Anthony Schutz, who worked with Mina at Nobhill Tavern and Seablue, helms the kitchen.

Over on the dessert side, look for Lincoln's shakes and cakes, named for Lincoln Carson, the executive pastry chef for the Mina Group. The event showcased orange creamsicle shakes, lemon raspberry cake and devils food cake with peanut butter ganache.

If the games at the event were any indication, expect to find beer pong at the restaurant when it opens in late June.
