Hopes that a full-service restaurant will return to Vdara's shuttered Silk Road space were finally dashed during an MGM Resorts International earnings report conference call today. Bobby Baldwin, CEO of CityCenter, confirmed the space will permanently become an almost 5,000-square-foot convention and meeting space, a resource the restaurant has occasionally served since closing in March 2011. The eclectic, eye catching decor has remained unchanged since shuttering.
Vdara retains no restaurant on site, but operates Market Café Vdara, an upmarket "grab-and-go" coffee shop. Silk Road opened in 2009 under the helm of chef Martin Heierling, who created Sensi at the Bellagio.
