Exclusive: Cake Boss Buddy Valastro Taking Over First

The wait to find out what's happening with the former First Food & Bar space at the Palazzo is finally over. Rumor has it that Cake Boss Buddy Valastro is headed to Vegas to take over the restaurant with partners Elizabeth Blau and Kim Canteenwalla of Honey Salt fame.

Calls for confirmation were not returned but an official announcement should come tomorrow morning.

Don't expect a bakery however. Looks like it will be an Italian concept restaurant.

This marks Valastro's first project Las Vegas. Expect a fall opening.

First and sister restaurant Rattlecan at the Venetian unexpectedly shuttered March 4.

While no plans have been announced for the Stripside Rattlecan yet, rumors have pointed to Daniel Boulud either taking over that space or Valentino. Boulud plans to announce his return to Vegas at the Epicurean Affair Thursday night at the Venetian.
