Jet Tila's return to Las Vegas comes in the form of a dessert spot, more specifically, snow cream. The former executive chef at Wazuzu opens Kuma Snow Cream today in Chinatown. The name is Tila's own creation describing the taste, a combination of snow and ice cream.
Here find creamy shaved ice in five flavors: mango, kuma snow, taro, strawberry and green tea. The deserts come in smaller Ninja size or the larger Sumo for $5.50 and $7 respectively. Diners can choose to order one of five varieties or create their own. The Mangazilla starts with mango snow cream, followed by machi, strawberry, Cap'n Cruch and mango sauce. The Panda Berry has a strawberry snow cream base with Oreos, almonds, cherries and chocolate sauce. Other creations include the Shinobi Nut, Bruce Tea and Boo Boo's Taro, cute logos included.
Toppings run the gamut from fruits such as pineapple and peaches to candies like gummy bears and M&Ms. Guests can pick a topping such as condensed milk, mango or caramel as well.
And that adorable logo? Kuma means polar bear in Japanese, and expect to see him on merchandise soon. Tila is already looking for space in New York City and Los Angeles "so the sun is always shining on my empire," he joked.
The dessert spot will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and perhaps later on the weekends.
