Could Giada De Laurentiis Open Her First Restaurant?

Here's a rumor out of nowhere. Vegas Seven reports the television personality Giada De Laurentiis is interested in running the proposed second-floor restaurant at the coming Gansevoort, taking the place of Bill's Gamblin' Hall.

Of course, that would mean De Laurentiis would open her first restaurant. Aside from her television shows and cookbook empire, she's lent her name to a line of cookware sold at Target but never run her own place. Her background includes stints at the Ritz-Carlton and Wolfgang Puck's Spago in Beverly Hills before she was discovered in 2002, but she's never operated her own restaurant.

Victor Drai already has plans to open a 65,000-square-foot dayclub on top of the hotel along with his Drai's After Hours, which temporarily opens at Bally's today.
