Summerlin stalwart Vintner Grill's second location inside Neiman Marcus at Fashion Show mall was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District on May 22 after a routine inspection found 45 demerits.
An imminent health hazard — improper disposal of sewage or liquid waste — sealed the fate of the restaurant on the top level of the swanky department store overlooking the Strip.
SNHD inspectors found staff not properly washing their hands, spoiled food, a dangerous cross-connection of waste water and more during the visit. Two previous inspections revealed an B grade last May that was upgraded to an A in June.
UPDATE: A publicist for Vintner Grill says, "The Vintner Grill Strip location is a banquet facility. The matter been corrected and fixed and does not affect operations at either location." The restaurant is working to get SNHD back in for a reinspection.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
