Holy cow, Vegas is going to be eating a lot of burgers from celebrity chefs in the coming year. Now comes word from an insider that Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich are opening B&B Burger & Beer in the former Rattlecan space at the Palazzo.
The duo — who already have Carnevino, B&B Ristorante and Otto Enoteca at the Venetian and Palazzo — registered a trademark for B&B Burger & Beer on May 17.
"The mark consists of the words B & B BURGER & BEER in block letters within a square. The words BATALI & BASTIANICH form a border at the top and right sides of the square. A cow sits on the top, left side of the border and is shown with the parts of the cow labeled," the trademark description says.
If the rumor mill is true, that would mean Batali and Bastianich would be competing with Daniel Boulud, who already announced DBGB Kitchen & Bar, his gourmet take on burgers and charcuterie, coming to an unnamed location in the resorts in 2014.
Also on the docket, Bobby's Burger Palace, television personality Bobby Flay's burger joint coming to Crystals. Gordon Ramsay already has Gordon Ramsay BurGR at Planet Hollywood Resort. Umami Burger has its eyes set on the coming SLS Hotel and Shake Shack plans to go into the unnamed $100 million remodel of the Monte Carlo and New York-New York resorts.
Expect the official announcement from Batali on Saturday during his Taste of Italy event for Carnevale.
Ground zero for burgers, indeed.
